On Friday 6 and Sunday 8 September , the Emigrant Festival returns to Migliano.
An evocative and traditional initiative of the Municipality of Fosciandora – which reached its 52^ edition in 2010, then unfortunately interrupted – which resumes in the Year of Italian roots in the world (2024) thus representing an important opportunity for the territory, roots tourists and communities abroad who return to their places of origin in the summer.
The prelude to the party will be the Concert of the Emigrant, in collaboration with the “I Ragazzi del Giglio” Music Band, scheduled for Friday at 9 pm in Piazza Luigi Roni.
On Sunday, the Roots Workshop for children, in collaboration with the Municipal Library of Fosciandora, and, at 3 p.m., the event “Ramingo went looking for… Stories and projects on emigration” in the Vladimiro Zucchi Hall with speeches by scholars and institutions.
The Festival is included in the unique calendar of the territorial project “Garfagnana Roots identity and memory” which sees the Municipalities of Castiglione di Garfagnana, Fabbriche di Vergemoli, Fosciandora, San Romano in Garfagnana and Villa Collemandina network, with the coordination of the Union of Garfagnana Municipalities and with the contribution of local associations.
