Italea Toscana

Italea is a project dedicated both to those who already know their Italian origins and want to organize a trip to discover and rediscover the places, customs and culture of their ancestors, and to those who need to identify them, and who will be able to make use of a network of reliable genealogists.

The name Italea derives from “talea”, a practice by which a plant is allowed to propagate. By cutting a part of it and replanting it, it can be given new life, making new roots grow: just as happens with migrations.

This program represents the gratitude of the “mother plant” to its flowering in the world.

We are a cooperative of people who believe in the values that root tourism can bring to bear.

Fifteen Tuscans who thrive on the history that has made our landscape one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in the world, united by a passion for our land and a desire to help our visitors connect with their roots.

We are located throughout Tuscany, representing not only Florence, but also Siena, Lucca, Arezzo, Livorno, Massa-Carrara, Pisa, Pistoia and Grosseto; our cooperative is rooted in every province, and our families have been telling the story of hospitality for decades.

Our team consists of young hoteliers, genealogists, travel designers and other professionals who will take you by the hand and accompany you on the exciting journey of your memory to discover familiar hills and villages in the eyes of your ancestors.

We aim to help you discover and rediscover your family history and explore your Tuscan roots. With a combination of local expertise, historical resources and a deep connection to the local community, we are committed to making your trip to Tuscany an unforgettable and meaningful experience.
