The experience
Nestled in the green hills of Tuscany, the Small Diary Museum located in Pieve Santo Stefano, in the province of Arezzo, is a hidden treasure that invites you on an intimate journey into the past to discover many personal stories.
If you need authentic connections to your roots and want an experience that touches on the personal and the concrete, this museum is the place to be.
It was founded to provide space for thousands of autobiographical texts, diaries, epistolaries and private writings from the National Diary Archive. It contains more than 7300 memoirs of Italians and provides a dive into the lives of many people of the past through direct and personal accounts.
The activity we propose is about the writing workshop and takes place within the Little Diary Museum. Through this workshop you will learn the best techniques for putting your memories on paper, recalling your family history and connections to places of origin. You can write your own memories on the museum’s pages, leaving a piece of personal memory in this special place that continues to grow with each visit.
The Little Diary Museum of Pieve Santo Stefano
The museum is not just a place of observation, but an interactive, multisensory experience that invites visitors to touch, browse, and interact with the past and allows for a journey through time, among the precious autobiographical evidence preserved there. A museum tour that welcomes visitors in an engaging and innovative way, through multimedia installations that enhance personal stories through the writings of ordinary people who have told the history of Italy from an unprecedented point of view. Private memories that from individual stories become collective and universal stories, intertwining with the history of the country with events rooted in our society’s past.
In conclusion, the Little Diary Museum is not just a museum; it is an invitation to embark on a personal odyssey in search of roots. Each journal is an intimate guide, each photo an open window to a past that may belong to you, so travel through time and memory!
