The experience
Located in the far north of Tuscany, between the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and the Apuan Alps, the Lunigiana Bike Area includes a multitude of trails that project themselves through the medieval architecture of the villages, the woods, the streams and the mountains, in a combination of fun and adventure.
You climb up to 1000 meters above sea level to observe views without inhabited centers and enjoy the silence. The operators of the area, which has always been linked to mountain biking, work assiduously to clean the paths and maintain the permanent signs. Oaks, chestnut trees, ash trees, daffodils and even pines make up the lush vegetation that accompanies the paths. A driving experience with dozens of proposals and variations.
Lunigiana Bike Area: the routes
The trail network is constantly evolving, supported by local MTB associations, public bodies and commercial operators. There are almost 30 routes available on the official website where there is the map, the downloadable GPX tracks and all the levels of difficulty and technical details.
The paths are all marked on the ground with unambiguous vertical signage and five different starting points. Routes for all legs and all tastes, from those suitable for families and those who want to have a first experience of off-road riding to real cross-country granfondo to enduro trails on natural surfaces that alter flow sections to more technical sections up to the Lunigiana Trail, a 250 km bikepacking route along the entire valley.
Lunigiana Bike Area: services
The commercial operators in the sector, in a network with each other, offer numerous services such as guided tours of all levels, from tourist to sports, MTB and EMTB rental, sales and service shops and numerous accommodation facilities near the starting points of the routes.
The network of paths and trails is open and usable all year round.
