The last three weekends of November, in San Miniato, are dedicated to the appointment with the White Truffle Market Exhibition, an event that brings together gourmets, professionals and curious tasters who can have fun in the open air and enjoy truffle-based menus.
For 50 years, the village in the province of Pisa has been hosting a real gastronomic “festival” dedicated to the white truffle, the “king” of the San Miniato hills, offering a mix of flavors, smells and colors.
The small and charming town of San Miniato becomes an open-air “Laboratory of taste” with stalls scattered around the squares. The National White Truffle Exhibition in San Miniato is the best opportunity to taste traditional recipes made with the precious white truffle, buy typical Tuscan products and participate in special events such as truffle hunting.
The city of San Miniato is both beautiful and generous. Its hills are a perfect environment for the growth of the Tuber Magnatum Pico. The largest white truffle in the world, weighing 2,520 kg, found in the Guinness Book of World Records, was found in San Miniato on October 26, 1954 by Arturo Gallerini, a truffle hunter from Balconevisi (near San Miniato). Today in San Miniato there is a wrought iron monument dedicated to Arturo and his dog Parigi.
The 2024 edition will take place on 16-17 November, 23-24 November and 30 November-1 December.
