“On Thursdays” summer evenings in Lucignano, in the heart of the Valdichiana, where you can breathe a festive summer air. Every Thursday in July and August the historic center of Lucignano will be transformed into an open-air restaurant and every evening will be offered gastronomic specialties at km.0 typical of our territory. People take to the streets to taste the specialties offered in street food by local operators, families of tourists stroll through the alleys of the spiral village experiencing the authentic village atmosphere. All evenings will feature themed shows, different every Thursday.
The themes that will be presented will be: The opening of the door with flag-wavers, historical group, jesters, fire show and medieval-themed music; the story of the return to Lucignano of the wounded Strozzi during the battle of Scannagallo, with armed fighters, camp and scenes of daily life; The night of wishes, dinner and unique event in the charming Piazza del Tribunale; Secret garden Pic-Nic, a picnic in the heart of the village. The main square will become a beautiful garden with lawn and plants. A unique setting where guests will take the box prepared by local chefs and will be able to taste the products sitting on the lawn accompanied by live music.
Every Thursday street food open grills, music and hospitality for all tourists, particular attention will be paid to those who will have the passport of the roots. The Mayor or Councillor guarantees the welcome of travellers from the roots with a welcome in the council chamber, guided tour of the museum, custodian of precious works of art, including the well-known and unique in the world “Albero d’Oro” of Lucignano, an ancient tree-shaped reliquary built between 1350 and 1471; The Medici Fortress and the Sanctuary of the Oaks by Giorgio Vasari, the Church of San Francesco and all the treasures of Lucignano with a welcome aperitif based on local products at the end. Travelers will be offered a tour of some local wineries and social oil mill with visits and wine and oil tasting.

How to get there
From the NORTH Take the A1 motorway, exit at Monte San Savino, follow the signs for Foiano, go through Marciano della Chiana and continue following the signs for Lucignano. From the SOUTH Take the A1 motorway, exit at Valdichiana/Bettolle/Sinalunga and follow the direction of Siena, continue on the SS 327 then RA6, exit in the direction of Siena/Florence/Grosseto, turn onto the Siena-Bettolle junction, exit at Sinalunga and turn onto the SP 11, continue towards Lucignano.
